The first face-to-face meeting of the EELISA (European Engineering Learning Innovation & Science Alliance) Governing Board since the inclusion of EELISA in the European Universities Initiative was held in Madrid. The meeting held on October 1, 2021 was attended by the rectors of partner universities as well as representatives from the EELISA academic community and external stakeholders.
EELISA was established as an alliance that aims to foster a new generation of engineers and professionals who will be able to align smart technology with sustainable needs in order to tackle global challenges. The first face-to-face meeting of the Governing Board since the inclusion of EELISA in the European Universities Initiative and EELISA InnoCore meeting held simultaneously were hosted by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
The Rectors, Directors and President of the nine universities of EELISA (Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Istanbul Technical University, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, École des Ponts Paristech, PSL Université Paris (Mines & Chimie Paristech), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Scuola Normale Superiore and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa), representatives from the EELISA academic community, external stakeholders and the Vice-president of ENAEE attended this meeting that defined the strategic lines leading to the creation of the “European Engineer” Degree.
In the meeting, attended also by EELISA President Dale A. Martin and EELISA Executive Director Sofia d’Aguiar, discussions were held to contribute to setting the strategy of the EELISA European University for the two next years and beyond. In this first face-to-face meeting, attendees discussed aspects related to EELISA’s academic recognition, the Credentials that certificate the involvement of the students from EELISA universities in EELISA Communities, EELISA Diploma Supplement, and the EELISA European Engineer and Architect Degree.
EELISA InnoCore (Innovation and Common Research Strategy) includes the Strategic Research, Doctorate, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Plan of EELISA. EELISA InnoCore will be launched with the main objective to create a network of interdisciplinary and international R & I collaboration.
