Students now directly engage in research to find innovative solutions to real-world challenges and Sustainable Development Goals Engineering Education for Real-world Challenges with Research-based Learning.

The first "EELISA Research-based Learning Symposium", which aims to identify jointly the challenges and new approaches in learning by way of bringing students, researchers, higher education administrators, businesses, and citizens together, is being organised by Istanbul Technical University and will be held in Istanbul on 17-18 May 2022.

Exploring links between education, research and innovation are one of the main engines of the EELISA Alliance. It allows students to face real-life problems, provides essential knowledge, and encourages finding solutions through research.

The EELISA RBL Symposium provides an interactive platform to explore opportunities
for innovative collaborative RBL activities.

Gathers RBL practices, which are applied at each EELISA partner in order to build on the experiences encountered.

Explores the opportunities in university-business collaboration in RBL, allowing graduates to prepare for what is expected after graduation.

Promotes and displays EELISA Communities that are actively working to realize RBL.

Brings together all parties involved in the EELISA Alliance: students, researchers, higher education administrators, businesses, and citizens.
