Innovation Talk #7 – The Role of Venture Capital in the Innovation Process: Examples from Turkey and Eastern Europe
Venture Capital (VC) firms represent key stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem. By providing equity for technology driven entrepreneurial firms in the early stages, they fuel high speed growth and help building competitive advantage. The panel will not only address how VC firms scout, select and deal with technology driven startups, but also try to uncover the value added activities following the post-investment process.
In an increasingly globalized market for capital, the panel will furthermore debate the degree to which early stage startup deals are context-bound. Additionally, panelists will discuss whether the degree of radical innovations made by startups matter in closing a deal with the VC firms as well as the factors, which influence early stage valuations.
