International seminars on urban mobility, gamification events to enhance knowledge and awareness of the circular economy, activities to boost sustainability transformation, or an initiative to join forces between BAUHAUS initiatives across Europe, are just some of the proposals that will receive funding from the first EELISA Call for Joint inter-institutional Activities in Communities.

In accordance with the motto of the EU and EELISA “united in diversity”, the call received a total of 46 applications from students, faculty, researchers and staff of BME, ENPC, FAU, ITÜ, PSL, SNS, SSSA, UPB, and UPM. In summary, 27 EELISA Communities representing members of the seven countries involved in EELISA participated in the call. The selection committee highlighted the format of the activities and the diversity of the proposals regarding the different areas of engineering and innovation that are being addressed.

In this context, proposals represent activities which are carried out  online, hybrid, blended, and in-person modes and cover various fields such as energy transition, med-tech, mobility, agriculture, architecture and the interaction of social sciences and engineering, thereby addressing Europe’s challenges of today and tomorrow.

The development of proposals for this first Joint Call has prompted the involvement of over 500 people from the EELISA alliance and approximately 130 external partners including, among others, research centres and institutions, municipalities, city councils, university startups, and spin-offs, NGOs, private companies, regional transport authorities, and members of other European universities.

A direct quote from the  selection committee; “this initiative is on the right path to achieving the goal of creating synergies between higher education institutions and industry to boost engineering, innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe”.

We congratulate the winners!
