Innovation Talks at ITU – Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Innovation: Implications and Challenges

Prof. Nazım Kemal Ure, Prof. Hatice Kose and Mert Menekse will discuss the classifications of AI algorithms, directions for future research and innovation in different domains as well as challenges posed by the dissemination of AI for certain industries and work. The panel will not only address experienced researchers in the field, but freshmen and other interested public to engage in a lively and interactive debate about the future of engineering and society.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a hype and buzzword, traversing almost all scientific and technological domains. With the advent of generative AI many disciplines are expected to undergo radical change, or even, cease to exist. In this Innovation Talk, Assoc. Prof. Nazım Kemal Ure, Prof. Hatice Kose and Mert Menekse will discuss the classifications of AI algorithms, directions for future research and innovation in different domains as well as challenges posed by the dissemination of AI for certain industries and work. The panel will not only address experienced researchers in the field, but freshmen and other interested public to engage in a lively and interactive debate about the future of engineering and society.

Panel participants

- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazım Kemal Ure (moderator) is the Vice Director of ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Research Center and currently working at ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Department.

- Prof. Dr. Hatice Kose is the chair of ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Department and also leads the Cognitive and Social Robotics Laboratory at ITU.

- Mert Menekşe is the co-founder of Co-One (A startup company providing AI and crowdsourced solutions for data annotation, validation and modeling).
