DigitalTwins on Railway Engineering

DIGITWIN4CIUE invites you to the next DIGI TWIN SESSIONS Event, which will take place on January 30th at ETSI de Caminos, Canales y Puertos of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and on ZOOM.

10.30 – 13.30 (CET)
12.30 – 15.30 (Istanbul Time)

Event Program

Digital Twins is an emerging technology that combines design, data and intelligence that enables the creation of virtual representations of physical products, places and processes. The Digital Twin concept has advanced from its original role in enterprise manufacturing to an expansive positioning that is relevant to a range of fields.

In the Railway sector, as in every other, digital twins are a powerful tool for analysing an object’s performance, hence essential for improving engineering and maintenance
processes, for the creation of predictive maintenance plans, for diagnosing faults, or even for guaranteeing its proper use. This technology allows pre-emptive maintenance, more efficient track utilisation and increases safety.

The session will begin with a presentation of the current state-of-the-art in digital Twins at ETSI de Caminos, Canales y Puertos. The speakers will then move to the discussion around Round Tables where they will actively engage attendees in open discussions.

  • Co-Learning Lab

    Co-Learning Lab

Crowdsourcing, co-creation and co-learning are contemporary concepts which are increasingly embedded in education models. Co-Learning Lab can be effectively used at EELISA level to showcase and exchange good practices on innovative pedagogies and transform research studies of graduate students into innovative learning experiences for all EELISA members and stakeholders. Co-learning Lab addresses the needs for…

  • Blended Learning Monitoring Support

    Blended Learning Monitoring Support

Since 2018, Numerical Statistics and Data Analysis has been a pioneering course in Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées concerning blended learning. It is part of the redesign of the engineering curriculum, which started in 2015 and focused on the empowerment of engineering students. The blended learning courses have permanently changed the habits of those…

  • Learning Service Office

Service-Learning (ApS) is an educational practice that combines content learning, competencies, and values with community service activities. Students engage in real-world needs in their environment, gaining valuable knowledge and experience.  This course, offered by the UPM Service-Learning Office (http://aprendizajeservicio.upm.es/), introduces the fundamentals of this methodology and provides procedures and tools for evaluating both student performance…

  • Inclusiveness Accessibility Differentiation Training

    Inclusiveness Accessibility Differentiation Training

The goal of this workshop is to raise teachers’ awareness of concepts of inclusiveness, educational differentiation, digital accessibility, disability, dyslexia, and many others. It offers them a set of concrete theoretical and practical tools to adapt to the diversity of their audiences.
