“What is Open Data, How Does It Support Science?”

An online event titled “What is Open Data, How Does It Support Science?” will be held on October 26, between 10.00-15.00 as part of the International Open Access Week.  

This will be the second of a series of events planned within the scope of the open science and open access awareness studies led by the ITU Library and Documentation Department along with the contributions of the EELISA Open Science Community

The event, which aims to disseminate open access practices, is open to anyone interested in this field.

Please note that the language of this event will be Turkish.

The event is open to anyone interested in the subject and consists of two parts. The morning session (10:00-12:00) will start with the definition of open data, and will end with presentations on national handling of research data, legal aspects, sectoral use, and research data management in universities, after the theoretical knowledge sharing. In the afternoon session (13:00-15:00), there will be a panel where valuable scientists from ITU from different disciplines share how they use open data applications in their scientific studies, and we will seek common solutions to the problems they encounter in this process.
