INNOvation and COmmon REsearch Strategy Support

EELISA ITU Librarians Team continues to support  EELISA Innocore Innovation and Research strategy. Open science especially plays a key role to transform the R & I dimension of the alliance. This time the ITU library has made an exclusive agreement with CUP(Cambridge University Press) to support open science studies in the alliance. You can find the details below.

Open Science (OS) is the movement to make scientific research, data and their dissemination available to any member of an inquiring society, from professionals to citizens. It impinges on principles of scientific growth and public access including practices such as publishing open research and campaigning for open access, with the ultimate aim of making it easier to publish and communicate scientific knowledge. From development to dissemination of knowledge, several concepts belong under the umbrella term of ‘Open Science’.

According to the Open Science By Design report of the American National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine; We call scientific publications produced from research projects supported by public funds, the data collected and analyzed to create these scientific publications, and the software, computer programs and methods developed to perform these analyzes as open science. Moreover, open science is not limited to scientific publications, data and methods. A full open science ecosystem will undoubtedly include open hardware, open technology, open evaluation, open educational resources, open arbitration, and many more.
