EELISA Info Day Meeting

Our university is part of the “European Innovation Engineering and Science Learning Alliance (EELISA European University)” project, which brings together 9 higher education institutions in Europe Engineering; 180,000 students, 50,000 graduated students, 16,000 faculty members and 11.000 administrative staff, representing the European University Association. The main purpose of the Union is to create a common “European Engineering Model” among European Universities. European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE)  is amongst the strategic partners of the EELISA project.

An Information meeting was held on October 27, 2021, between 13:00 and 15:00 p.m. to introduce the aforementioned project to the project coordinators. In addition to the general information about the EELISA Project, presentations wasl also be made about two main work packages that are closely related to the project coordinators at the meeting in question. The first of these is the “EELISA Communities”, which is the fourth work package of the project. The aim of this work package is to create EELISA communities including for students, academics and external stakeholders to co-address contemporary challenges relating to Europe and our world. In this context, the meeting aims to identify the areas of interest and research of ITU academics regarding the priority areas of the EU in the upcoming period, to explore potentialities where they can contribute to the project, and to facilitate the formation of EELISA communities by bringing together academics from universities that are members of the EELISA consortium.

In addition, a presentation was made on the fifth work package entitled “Link between education, research and innovation”, of which ITU is the work package leader. The purpose of this work package is to develop a common, integrated and long-term strategy for transferring the results of research and innovation to education. Within this framework, the EELISA degree can be extended to doctoral programs and joint research projects can be created.

Within the scope of the event, the “EELISA INNOCORE” Project, a Horizon 2020 Program project conducted by the partner institutions of the EELISA project to improve the research and innovation dimension of the EELISA project, was also be promoted.
